The Zilberman Family Director of the Lippincott Library was established in 2021 as part of a generous gift to the Penn Libraries from Stephanie Zilberman, WG’01 and Dan Zilberman, WG’01. The gift will also foster the growth and development of Penn’s head business librarian, who leads the work of the Lippincott Library of the Wharton School. The additional resources will enable the director to develop the people and systems that will shape future business leaders and support crucial research in the field.

The Lippincott Library provides an extensive collection and wide range of services, including course readings on electronic reserve, document delivery services for requesting items, specialized training and virtual consultations with business research librarians, and more, with the goal of helping Penn’s business community develop rigorous analysis and actionable knowledge.

Marcella Barnhart is the inaugural Zilberman Family Director of the Lippincott Library. She manages and develops the Lippincott Library's ability to support the business research, instructional and information needs of the students, faculty and staff of Penn's world-renowned Wharton School.

She holds a BA in Political Science from Rice University, an MA in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an MS in Library Science from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and an MBA from Temple University. Prior to coming to Penn, Marcella worked for the Thomson Corporation (now Clarivate Analytics), managing the customer education and training operation in the Americas and Europe for Thomson Scientific.
