1926 Ivy Day Plaque.

James A. Crawford, C'26, left a generous bequest to the University of Pennsylvania Library for the purchase of books, journals, manuscripts, and other materials. Unrestricted funds such as this permit the Library to acquire materials not only in new fields, but in new formats. The Penn Libraries have evolved since 1926, and today provide access to not only books and printed materials but also e-books and digital content. The Crawford Fund helps the Libraries to stay abreast of these developments and acquire the very latest materials.

A loyal Pennsylvanian, Mr. Crawford was a dedicated member of the Class of 1926, and through his generosity we remember them - as forecast in their freshman ode:

The trend of successes and failures,
Down through all centuries must mix -
In courage unshaken and confidence bold,
Let triumphs attend 'Twenty Six.
