As the Music Technical Services Librarian, Steve oversees operations related to the acquisition, cataloging, and shelf preparation of scores, sound recordings and videos. He provides access to these materials by cataloging them for local and national online catalogs, and works with the Rare Book and Manuscript Library in the cataloging of rare music scores and manuscripts. He also plans and oversees the creation of metadata for digital projects related to music materials. Prior to coming to Penn, Steve held positions in music libraries at the University of Colorado Boulder, Davidson College and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds master's degrees in musicology and library science. Steve is active in the Music Library Association, where he has worked on many committees, served on the Board of Directors and edited the association's newsletter.
