Bookbinding: Laced Paper Case

In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn to bind a book by hand; how to sew the text block using a long stitch on supports, how to fold the paper case, and how to lace the text into its cover. This process is inspired by a binding learned from Celine Lombardi. This binding is characterized by the woven details on the covers — the supports used for sewing the text block are also used to lace on and secure the folded paper cover. Use it as a notebook or sketchbook, a gift, or a model for additional handmade books.

All levels of bookbinding experience are welcome; supplies will be provided.

RSVP is required; spots are limited.
